Progress and Digress

I still have not figured out what I'm doing wrong with the RSS feed, but the number of hits to the www.AnonymousReview.org page is encouraging. Not in the hundreds, but a little more and a little more and a little more.  Not a dime to the support through PayPal, but I haven't used my last nickle - yet.

The people who own the Henrietta Seiberling recording from the first Podcast.  Details are on the website, with a link to their site to keep the gatehouse at the Seiberling estate available to the public and to AA specifically.

My car has not healed in two weeks. Funny. I thought the holistic, non-invasive form of good energies would help, but it looks like I'm going to have to pay someone to beat on it with a wrench.  (ball joint, suspension, strut break)

I have some specific ideas or the next few podcasts and am moving toward upping the production schedule to twice a month - maybe weekly when it all comes down to a simple, regular process.

Things happen.  Sometimes they are good.

Stumbling through RSS

The second show has been up for a week and I still cannot figure out how to update my feed.

Is there anyone out there who knows enough about RSS to show me what I'm doing wrong.

Uh Oh

Well, the unknown source for the Henrietta Seiberling interview is no longer unknown. It is known, and it has copyright 2005, meaning I am using copyright material without permission!!!

So I have contacted the copyright owner; offered to a) remove the copyright material (which will cut my first podcast to 30 minutes), or b) give full credit to the source, including a link to the site where this CD can be purchased.

And I am waiting to hear back from them.

Ooops.

The Return of RSS

Well, poo ... I'm trying to get the RSS working for the new episode of Anonymous Review and ... it just isn't and I don't know why.

So - back to asking people who know what they are doing. 

Maybe one day I will become one of them.

How to Connect to 1and1 with Dreamweaver

I found I was able to log into my hosting site using a 3rd party FTP program (I use CyberDuck). So the question was ... why can't I log in with DreamWeaver.

Using the Linux package you put a "/" to indicate your home directory.

Using the MicroSoft package, you do not put a "/" to get to the home directory.

That's it.

FTP target, account and password are the same. to / or not to / - that was the question.

And not one of the "tech" people at 1and1 could mention it.

Since I have this Blog independent of the hosting service, I think I'll keep it.

Now I can get back to work on the Podcasts.

The New Blog

Well, my long association with 1and1.com as a hosting service just took a nasty turn.

I tried to "Upgrade" to the Business package from my Beginner's package. I was told the only difference between Linux and Microsoft packages was that PHP is supported on Linus, and ASP is supported on MS. I don't use either one. The accents from subcontinental web support, with names like Chad and Clarence and Megan, is very annoying - if they are lying from the moment the pick up the phone, what good can I expect?

Now my web space has been down for four days and no two people at 1and1.com say the same thing. I was told it took 24 hours to change the package. One woman asked "Where did you see that on the website, because it takes 24-48 hours to change the package." I directed her to the page and she said "There, it no longer says that, sur."

My 24-48 is working on 96 hours with no sign of relief.

And until I can clear this, the eight websites I host on the web are gone gone gone.

And my serenity is being severely messed with.

I sponsor several guys and I have to do the right thing or it looks bad. But it is not just looking good - I really want to want to be willing to do the right thing.

I'm just not quite there yet.

I will not be as quick to recommend them to future clients.

Work on the Podcast continues. I solved a couple of production problems and hope to have #2, #3 and #4 posted in short order.
